When and where is the Conference being held? IMA's 12th Annual Student Leadership Conference will be held November 10-12, 2011, at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza. The hotel is located at 35 W. 5th Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
Is there a discounted hotel rate available for conference attendees? Hotel reservations will be taken by the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza. A block of rooms is available at a special IMA rate of $119 double/single, plus 17% tax. Be sure to mention that you are with IMA or Institute of Management Accountants. This rate will be in effect while rooms are available or until the cut-off date of October 19, 2011. Reservations after October 19, 2011 or after the IMA block sells out may be subject to the higher rate. There is no guarantee that the IMA block won’t fill up before October 19th, so make your reservations early.
Important Policy Change If you make a hotel reservation, we ask that you register for the Conference immediately. IMA reserves the right to verify your Conference registration to support the booking of your hotel reservation. Failure to register with IMA for the Conference within a week of making your hotel reservations may result in the cancellation of your hotel reservation.
What are the transportation options from the airport to the hotel? The Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza is 15 miles from the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati International airport, and 10 miles from Cincinnati Municipal/Lunken Field. Taxis cost about $30 each way. Shuttle service is provided by Executive Transportation and costs $20 one-way or $30 round-trip. You may contact them online, at 859-261-8841 or 800-990-8841.
What is the format of the Conference? Three optional industry tours are available to attendees on Thursday from 2:00 pm - 3:30 p.m. There is no additional cost for the tours. Pre-registration is required: Option 1) Tour of the historic Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza Hotel - Hear Michel Sheer, Managing Director, discuss the unique history of the building and his responsibilities as the hotel's commander-in-chief. Then take a self guided tour of the property at your leisure afterwards. Option 2) Tour of the Federal Reserve Bank – Cincinnati Branch including a speech on the purposes and functions of the Fed, Stone Money video, and a tour of the cash operations. (Federal Reserve Tour is limited to the first 25 people). Option 3) Proctor & Gamble Corporate Archives Tour- Procter & Gamble is one of the oldest companies on the Fortune 500, and is one of roughly 400 companies in the United States to have a Corporate Archives. The tour includes artifacts and stories detailing P&G’s earliest days, its founders and their values. Also included in the tour are interesting stories regarding P&G's biggest and oldest brands, some brands that just didn’t make the cut, how P&G is innovating and building brands today, and interesting financial documentation around P&G’s incorporation in 1890. (Tour is limited to 30 people).
Friday will feature two general sessions and three sets of concurrent sessions. A networking reception will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at GameWorks. The reception and related activities, including transportation are included as part of your Conference registration fee. Participants will have the opportunity to attend two of three available workshops on Saturday as well as the general closing session. There will also be a special faculty workshop held on Saturday morning. The Conference ends at the conclusion of the general session at 12 p.m. Lunch will be available as grab and go or sit and chat depending on your schedule.
Is the Thursday night registration and reception mandatory? The Thursday night reception is optional, but it is an excellent time to visit our exhibitors, receive your registration information, and network with fellow students, faculty members, and Conference speakers.
What is the dress code for the conference? Attire for Conference sessions and networking events is business casual, defined by IMA as slacks, polo shirts, sweaters, blazers, blouses, and comfortable shoes.
What are the conference registration fees?

What are the cut-off dates for pre-registration? Please note: Mailed and/or faxed registration forms must be postmarked before the cut-off date of October 21st. On-site registration rates will be in effect starting Saturday, October 22, 2011, and will incur a $10 late fee.
How do I register? Conference attendees can register online beginning on Tuesday, September 6, 2011.
What is the cancellation policy? Requests for cancellations must be submitted in writing and received by IMA prior to October 21, 2011, in order to receive a full refund. Cancellation requests may be e-mailed to Dionne Downs at ddowns@imanet.org or faxed to (201) 474-1603. Cancellations received by IMA after Friday, October 21, 2011 will incur a $50 cancellation charge. No refunds will be available for cancellations after Friday, October 21, 2011, or for no-shows. IMA is not responsible for delayed mail or incorrectly addressed correspondence. Refunds will be issued within sixty (60) days after the Conference.
IMA is only responsible for processing the Conference registration. If for any reason you must cancel your Conference registration, please remember to cancel your hotel accommodations directly through the Crowne Plaza Resort or the hotel you have reserved. IMA reserves the right to cancel the 12th Annual Student Conference if conditions warrant. In the event of such a cancellation, registration fees will be refunded. IMA is not responsible for any travel or lodging expenses or out-of-pocket costs incurred. IMA reserves the right to cancel sessions if minimum registration numbers are not met. Attendees will have the option to attend other sessions in the same time period. Only individuals registered and badged may attend Conference events. Guests must register in order to attend Conference meals. No guests are allowed to attend conference sessions.
Is Registration Transferable? Requests to substitute your registration must be in writing and received by IMA by Friday, October 21, 2011 to Dionne Downs at ddowns@imanet.org or by mail to: IMA, Attn: Student Leadership Conference, 10 Paragon Drive, Suite 1, Montvale, NJ 07645. Requests for substitutions will not be permitted after Friday, October 21st. All substitutions are subject to a $25 administrative fee, plus any additional fees due to differences in the member type.
